Rachael Yamagata was amazing live at Mosaic! Felt really contented that she closed the concert with Reason Why, the first song I heard from her off The OC. Her music's been putting me to bed for the past couple of nights, esp Quiet. Find solace in that song, don't knw why. Hmmm...

Anyway, Heatwave's started. The first day went pretty well I guess. Didn't feel like we spent a whooping 9 hours in school! So many things in-stored for the next 6 months and I'm kinda looking forward to it. Mayb because it's just the beginning, but we can all hope IBP Radio Heatwave'll b a blast. All u IAP students, I hope all ur first days went well too! U're getting paid ah, so smile!

S and I had a conversation abt how most ppl're satisfied just earning a living and supporting themselves and their family, and he asked me if that's what I want as well. And I said no, that isn't what I want. I guess alot of ppl're idealists, or mayb, just the majority of FMS students. We want to make a difference with whatever talent we possess, but of cos, only a handful of the majority believe that they can. Like Jasmine, she aspires to travel to places of war and poverty with her trusty SLR to snap photos of the disgusting violence of bloodshed and the conditions of the less fortunate, and share it with ppl who care enough to look. Or like Tony, who hopes that some day he can contribute his services in Africa and aid the poor, aged, sick, and orphaned that reside there. And I don't knw, mayb write a couple of inspiring power-packed articles that will move readers across the globe.

As for me? I've a closet aspiration. Not as exhilarating as running thru a war zone, but pretty close to what Tony'd like to do. Helping those in poverty and sickness, travelling to third world nations and shedding all the charity I can, and eventually do a live broadcast back to a news radio station and share with listeners the heartbreaking stories that can only be found there. Hopefully with the power of sound and description, it will stir enough inside ppl for them to care.
